Each residence hall room is furnished with two single beds, two desks, two lamps, two desk chairs, two dressers, two closets, window blinds, two data ports, and one waste basket. We encourage students to contact their roommate to discuss what she or he is bringing to campus.
All mattresses are Twin XL (80" x 36") except in Telford Hall, where the mattresses are standard Twin (74" x 36"). Mattresses in Grand Campus are Full Size (74" x 52"). Matresses in Martin Hall Super Suites and North Hall Super Suites are also Full Sized (74" x 52").
The bed heights in all residence halls (except Grand Campus) are adjustable, usually ranging from 16" to 28" off of the floor.
Yes. Students may bring their own carpet, provided it meets safety and fire regulations. Carpet must have a class III or better rating (76-200 flame spread).
For more information on which appliances are permitted and not permitted follow this link, What to Bring.
NOTE: Students must provide a U.L. approved power strip with a self-contained circuit breaker if they plan to operate any of the appliances found on the "what to bring list". Also, when using a cooking appliance, the student must always be in the room and attentive to the appliance in order to prevent fires.
Appliances not approved or deemed to be unsafe will be confiscated and will be returned to the student at the end of the current semester.
Bicycles may be stored in resident's rooms if the resident has a private room. A bicycle rack is provided at the front of each Residence Hall. You must bring your own lock for it.
Weights, including vinyl covered dumbbells (up to 50 pounds), are allowed in a resident's carpeted room. Barbells are not permitted in the residence hall. However, the university provides two locations on campus that have weights and other exercise equipment managed by the Campus Recreation office.
